Preamble

  • Armenia is a democracy threatened by autocratic regimes in the region. Following the ethnic cleansing perpetrated in Artsakh, and in continuation of the 1915 Genocide, Azerbaijan, aided by its Turkish ally, aims for the disappearance of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.
  • The Azerbaijani and Turkish states consider the Armenian Diaspora as an obstacle to their ambitions and deploy all means at their disposal, including racist campaigns, to silence its voice and stifle its influence.

Consequently, invoking the spirit of Resistance of the hero of the Red Poster, the Missak Manouchian Movement sets the following objectives:

Objectives

  • Participate in the security and defense of Armenia in accordance with the authorities of the country.
Support democracy and the rule of law in Armenia.
  • Promote the spirit of Resistance of Missak Manouchian and his companions by promoting their image and action in the French public space, recalling their fight for the emancipation of peoples, against obscurantism, racism, and anti-Semitism.
  • Carry out information actions in France regarding the situation in Armenia and oppose the disinformation efforts of the Turkish-Azerbaijani alliance.
  • Enhance the influence and prestige of Armenia in France and Europe.

The achievement of these objectives will be carried out:

  • Through the resources of the Movement, in partnership with organizations sharing its values.
  • Through the dissemination of objective and documented information, aimed at countering the disinformation and propaganda efforts of the Azerbaijani and Turkish states.
  • By promoting, in France and Europe, the image of Missak Manouchian, the Movement will facilitate the introduction of Missak Manouchian's figure into the public space by proposing to local authorities to erect monuments in his memory, to dedicate a street or a public establishment (school, high school, stadium, media library, etc.) in the name of the Resistance Hero welcomed at the Pantheon on February 21, 2024.
  • This promotion will preferably be done in collaboration with local associations, Armenian or non-Armenian, concerned with perpetuating his memory.

Values and Principles of the Missak Manouchian Movement

The values of the Movement are those of Missak Manouchian and his group, namely freedom, equality, and fraternity.

The Movement considers that the citizens of the Republic of Armenia and the members of the Diaspora constitute one and the same people.

The Movement considers that the citizens of the Republic of Armenia are sovereign over their territory and in the conduct of the affairs of their state. The Movement unconditionally respects this sovereignty.

In the name of this principle, any government legally and democratically elected through the free exercise of this sovereignty is recognized as legitimate by the Missak Manouchian Movement.

Financial Means: The Manouchian Contribution

To implement its program, the Manouchian Movement establishes the “Manouchian Contribution” which will enable the achievement of these objectives.
